Jupiter has 53 named moons and another 26 awaiting official names, according to NASA.

The First Four moons discovered beyond Earth – the Galilean satellites: Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto.

When the Voyager scientists saw Io for the first time, they described it as “moldy pizza”.
